Rapids and Ropes Package

Looking for a day packed full of action or a couple of fun adventures for the weekend then the Rapids and Ropes package is perfect for you! The Rapids portion is whitewater rafting with Swiftwater Adventures on the St. Louis River. Our professionally guided tours flow through 1,000 acres of state land supplying rafters with a wilderness like experience and incredible scenery. Whitewater, rock outcrops, old growth pines, eagles and osprey, and fun guides!

The Upper section of the St. Louis River sports class II to III rapids and varies from crashing waves to technical drops. All our guides are trained in reading and running whitewater, swiftwater rescue techniques, natural history of the river, and first aid/CPR. Your fun and safety is our top priority.

You can chose to raft and do the ropes all in one day or spread it out to one adventure per day! We also suggest visiting Jay Cooke St. Park for impressive vistas of the St. Louis River and over 50 miles of hiking trails. If you are a mountain biker, Pine Valley in Cloquet, only 5 minutes away, has a variety of trails for the novice to expert.

The Ropes Course, a five pole, 12 element, two level aerial challenge park might look like some from American Ninja Warrior but the challenges are less physically demanding, so you don’t need to be a ninja. If you are 8 years old and over 35 pounds then you are good to go!

Course facilitators train you through our ground school program, taking about 15 minutes, then they help you as you navigate the course. Participants have 1 and ½ hours on the course after ground school to challenge themselves on the various elements like Indiana Jones Bridge, Burma Bridge, Swinging Vines, Vertical Playpen, Dyno Drop and more!
